The foundation for a good cup of coffee starts with the integrity and quality of the beans your roaster chooses. Coffee is an agricultural product that grows on a tree, it’s not factory-made, so every bean is different. Different regions of the world produce coffees under different conditions, so taste, aroma and overall mouth feel can vary greatly. The best way to to your favorites is by trying them all.

The quality of the beans determines how your coffee will taste — even before brewing. If you’re committed to finding the perfect coffee and routine, start with investing in high quality beans, for without them, you’ll never have good coffee…and they need to be fresh; Crazy Fresh®!

Crazy Fresh Coffee® beans come from third, fourth, fifth and sixth generation family farmers, then are roasted in small batches in Michigan to preserve and ensure the beans keep their flavors and freshness.

Beans have different taste profiles and that depend on factors, like origin, soil, altitude, as well as how dark (or light) they’re roasted. Depending on they type of coffee drink you are going to make (espresso, drip, or cold brew) our Crazy Fresh Coffee® customers use our Triple Threat Blend or our Honduran Santa Rosa SHG for Cold Brew beans, then use our Stir Crazy Blend® beans for drip or French Press coffee, and our Super Thick Crema Blend for Espresso.

Understanding coffee is a lifelong “quest.” An important key is that once you buy what you like, keeping the bean’s fresh until used, is critical. A tip we pass along, is “only grind for your immediate needs.” In other words, whether you’re making a french press or a pot, grind just enough for that batch. Next batch the same; pour out enough beans, then immediately re-seal the bag. Our Crazy Fresh® bags are formulated to re-seal, so the coffee stays fresh throughout your everyday use.

Most coffees in grocery stores contain beans that sit and collect dust on shelves for months at a time. By shopping small and supporting artisanal roasters, you’ll be drinking better and fresher coffee while supporting a small business at the same time.
