We like the freezer method as long the beans are in an air-tight container. If you use our Crazy Fresh bag, make sure to squeeze any air out of it first.

Our bags are truly re-sealable. That means they will keep the coffee fresh until you finish the bag so long as you push the air out and re-seal after each use. Many of our competitors’ bags have a piece of tape that never re-seals the bag! Air makes the coffee stale. Our bags also have a one-way valve that allows no air to get in, while allowing natural gasses to be released after the roasting process.

This process recently won the World Barista Championship (in its category.) We use it and teach this method and think you will like it too! Using this method with your favorite Crazy Fresh Coffee will make the WORLD’S BEST French press coffee. Ready? Here you go:

Fill your bring your water to a boil.

Pre-heat your French press with hot water (about ¼ - ½ full will do) and let it sit for about thirty seconds, then empty. (Tip: We like to pre-heat our coffee cups, too!)

When the water is ready, fill the beans to the fill level in your grinder (depending on how many cups you are using).

Grind to a nice coarse setting, not too fine (Tip: Don’t grind until the last second.)

Pour freshly ground Crazy Fresh Coffee beans into the French press.

Slowly add hot water to the ground coffee. (Fresh coffee will bloom for a few seconds so don’t worry, once it subsides, keep pouring until grounds reach just below the top. (Tip: the water level will be below the top of the grounds.)

Stir the grounds one time after you are done adding the water.

Ask Siri to set a timer for 4 minutes.

Once the 4 minutes are up, scoop most of the grounds off the top with a spoon (once or twice should do it as you will get most of the grounds…it’s OK if you don’t get them all.)

Carefully insert the the top of the press over the glass, then slowly plunge to the bottom. When it stops, you are done.

Sip, slurp, and say ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Enjoy!
